2022 Barrett & Barrett Cab Magnum 1.5L in Wood, Signed
Barrett & Barrett is a handcrafted, small production Napa Valley Cab that reflects the two complementary styles of winemaking stars (and married couple) Bo and Heidi Barrett. Bo’s expertise is in single appellation wines that highlight distinct vineyards, while Heidi excels at creating perfectly balanced, layered Cabs with an elegant, artistic style.
Tasting notes: Dark, opaque ruby in color, with inviting, lifted aromas of ripe black and red fruit. Immediate aromatic impressions of pomegranate syrup, cassis, zesty cranberry sauce, sweet oak, and lightly roasted coffee. On the palate, it’s bright and lush, powerful yet elegant. We are struck by how deep and complex the flavors are, yet the wine is not at all heavy. In fact, it is fully approachable now as a young wine, with tons of promise for the future. Fruit flavors of pomegranate and mixed berries are enveloped in soft, silky tannins that persist and evolve in a beautiful lingering finish. A wine that is at once deeply thought-provoking and incredibly delicious. One of our favorites yet from our tiny Calistoga vineyard - we’re really proud of this one and can’t wait to share it with you!
