Our second release of Aviatrix Red Wine - a blend of Petite Sirah and Syrah, with a pinch of Cabernet Franc. Aviatrix is a collaboration between La Sirena winemaker/owner Heidi Barrett and her two daughters, winemaker Chelsea Barrett, and sales/marketing director Remi Barrett. Blend: 53% Syrah, 45% Petite Sirah, 2% Cab Franc
AVA: California - 80% Amador County, 20% Napa Valley
Tasting Notes: 2021 Aviatrix Red Wine (tasted 1/31/25 by Heidi)
Dark blackberry in color—ripe fruit aromas come through first along with layers of black pepper,blackberry jam, juicy plums, baking spice, and toast. Big and bold across the palate with wonderful chewy texture—a subtle grainy character I love. Flavors are similar to the aromas of dark fruit with some peppery spice. Moderate tannins that are soft, and a medium oak level to balance the fruit. Good length and persistent flavors. A deliciously satisfying red blend.
