Limited Re-release! The first vintage of Heidi's homage to the Hermitage region of the Rhone, this Barrett Syrah-based blend is a stunning combination of old world style and Napa Valley power. Aging tremendously well, Rhone and Syrah lovers are going to absolutely adore this aged-to-perfection bottle of mermaid majesty. Le Barrettage was produced from 2009-2014.
Updated Tasting Notes:
Deep garnet in color, no visual signs of age. Very pleasing aromas of dark fruit (currants especially), along with fruitcake, and an appealing combination of cherry-related flavors… think chocolate covered cherry, cherry cordial, and cherry cola. On the palate, it’s ripe and full, and there’s still some tannin/grip, making it textural and chewy. Flavors match the aromas and linger in a beautiful long finish. Bright and lively, with plenty of life ahead, but fantastic now! Very Rhone-like, as the label inspiration indicates. Really proud of this one, it’s aging amazingly well.
